Butt Monkey Chimp Chiller Ale: A Simian Might Drink It Again...I Won't
by MiDoyle | Feb 02 '07
Butt Monkey’s Chimp Chiller Ale will do the job if you want to get hammered, but that’s all. Otherwise, its best use is as a urine sample.

Oops. Many years back, Bad Frog got in trouble in Georgia in a label dispute, like Shelton Bros. and Maine/Connecticut this year (Bad Elf, etc.). My bad.

Bad Frog from Georgia? That's a Michigan beer, or at least the company is based out of Michigan. Are you thinking of Wild Boar? That was a Georgia contract brew, though they were history before I got here. I think Silverback #9 Original Black Coffee Beer
was marketed in RI but contract brewed by a Georgia company, too.

Cheers,
John

More "rude animal" names to sell a mediocre beer. Bad Frog anyone? Hey, that was from Georgia too...

John:

The name is supposed to get you try it on some level, which I fell for. It's on par with the Three Stooges beer from a few years ago. Thanks for commenting.

David: This will turn up in NYC sometime soon I'm sure, if it hasn't already. Thanks for commenting.

I wouldn't expect much from the beer. Thanks for the warning.

So yep, ale yeast at lager temps to suppress any fruity esters being created by the yeast, with little hoppiness. Sounds like they went a little too far and wiped out everything -- wait, guess that was the plan here.

Glad you got to it first!

Nice review, made me chuckle several times.

I think I'll stick this with some of the other gimmicky beer I avoid.
