I disagree with that "SH" rating because timing is a very important part of how to -- it you try to potty train a child at the wrong time, like too early, you are only training yourself to drag the kid to the toilet very 15 minutes
-- if I ever (perish the thought!) have to potty train another child, I'll do what I did the first time: pre-school! lol!

....I remember those trying days of potty training my two sons. They were not fun. I don't think there is any magic formula either - it probably just boils down to when the child is ready and understands what the goal is.
Nicely done.

Sounds like you have a great young Jr in your hands! Enjoy, bigger challenges than potty training will emerge sooner than you think...!

Don't tell me you are sorry! I don't need any pity believe me. You had some good pointers why you believe this review is only SH and I respect it. But I wanted to write my "less info more let it be" view that I wish I could have seen with my first child...

Wow, "How to Potty Train your Child" this is a loaded question (no pun intended). I rated this very helpful because you noted some of the frustrations my wife and I have experienced the last few month's. We were so relieved when Cal Jr. was potty trained. We used pampers, we used different potty chairs, we used pull-ups, even the pull-ups that would get cold. We purchased videos, we read books, we even used the Elmo doll that actually uses the potty.
All of our efforts failed! I think we helped, but in the end he made his own choice. After he mastered the bm, he then mastered peeing in the potty and not wetting at night. He is only three, and we are proud of him.

... for the SH rating, but the category is HOW to train, and in my opinion you've offered little on the how to's. Your advice is sound on readiness, but I think if you actually offered some suggestions as to HOW you trained, it would improve your rating.
For instance, did you use a star chart, or other incentives? What kind of potty did you use, or did you use a toilet trainer? Did you use pull-ups, underwear, or Gerber like trainers...?
If you choose to edit, please feel free to email me the link so I can come back and re-read/re-rate.
