Music creates many emotions and feelings. Although I love many different bands and artists, I've always had a soft spot for female singers that can really sing about love, lust, sex and seduction and make me believe it. This is a list of who I consider to be the ten sexiest female rock vocalists. (jazz and blues can easily create a list of their own beginning with Billie Holiday up to Diana Krall) TEN: Chrissy Hynes of the Pretenders gonna use my arms, gonna use my legs, gonna use my style, gonna use my sidestep, gonna use my fingers, gonna use my My MY IMAGINATION! 'CAUSE I I'M GONNA MAKE YOU SEE THERE'S NO ONE ELSE HERE NO ONE LIKE ME I'm special! so special!. No one belts out tunes quite the way Chrissy Hynes did, she made The Pretenders one of THE bands to listen to in the 80s with a sassy sexual swagger and bravado. Hynes grabbed your attention and kept it. NINE: Shirley Manson of Garbage The sexy red headed vixen who provided lead vocals for Garbage always captured my attention. From the title track of The World is Not Enough to Garbages many hits like I Think I'm Paranoid, Supervixen and I'm Only Happy When it Rains I love her voice. EIGHT: Terri Nunn of Berlin The sultry singer who gave us the theme song to Top Gun (You Take My Breath Away) gave Berlin a cult hit with this song. Pure sexuality oozed from Berlin's songs. Remember when Terri Nunn traded lyrics with her bandmate with a maximum amount of suggestibility I'm a man I'm a goddess I'm a man - Well I'm a virgin I'm a man - I'm a b*tch I'm a man- I'm a geisha I'm a man - I'm a little girl and we make love together SEVEN: K.D. Lang Alright, she looks rather mannish, and she probably isn't my type, but K.D. has a voice that is sensuality itself, and when she invites a lover to explore forbidden tempations, the song melts in your ears come on come on kiss away the ones who say the lust you feel is wrong now how bad could it be, if you amuse yourself with me how bad could it be .. sexuality. K.D.'s vocals could create a constant craving no matter what your sex or orientation. K.D.'s voice alone gets her an easy spot on my top ten list of sexy singers. SIX: Sheryl Crow Don't know what happened with her and Lance, but all I have to say is Lance blew it, Sheryl is one incredible artist. Beautiful person, beautiful voice and talented songwriter, Crow has consistently enchanted me. FIVE: Nina Persson of The Cardigans Who could resist the charms of this blonde chantuesse as she begs an uncaring paramour to love me love me, say that you love me. I know I couldn't. Any woman that can cover Black Sabbath tunes and make them sound sexy has something going on. Can he walk and talk, and if he moves will he fall? FOUR: Ann Wilson of Heart "Come on Home Girl" he said with a smile, "I cast my spell of love on you, a woman from a child" But try to understand try to undertand... He's a magic man One of the first rock groups I got into thanks to an older cousin, Ann and Nancy Wilson put a spell on me in my teenage years. Ann's sultry voice captured that feel of love and desire perfectly. The Wilson sisters proved that rock n' roll was not just a man's world. THREE: Deborah Harry of Blondie. My first love, Deborah Harry! I discovered Blondie as a young teenager, and quickly developed a crush on their lead singer, Deborah Harry. With roots in punk, the band got their start in New Yorks infamous nightclub CBGBs and went on to fame in the late 70s and early 80s. Nobody could scream quite like Deborah. A force unto herself, Bjork looks Asian and has a Scandanavian accent! What more would a guy want? Well maybe a woman whose idea of dressing up isn't putting on a swan. She is the same age as I am, but her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live promoting her new album Volta showed she still looks and sounds great and remains her own unique person. ONE: Shakira The first time I saw a video by this woman I was enthralled. Hips don't Lie and neither does the instantly recognizable sexuality and charm of this Latin American sultry singer. Make no mistake either, she is not just another pretty woman, she can belt out rock tunes and ballads with the best of them. Others considered, but not on my list and why: Madonna Sorry, she is an icon, I'm just oversaturated with Madonna. Plus Madonna's live voice isn't that great. Britney Spears Yeah, she was cute, but can she really sing? You know, without the studio enhancement? Gwen Stefani No Doubt she is sexy, but she just isn't my type. Jewel Well actually she almost made my list, the video she did for her pop album was incredible, but usually when I hear Jewel sing, I think of folk music. Avril Lavigne She's just too young for me! Suzanna Hoffs of the Bangles Ah, she almost made it, she has the cutest smile. Pat Benatar Almost, I always did like her.
