Felt Really Abused by This Company

Ease of Ordering:
October 6, 2008 - Had good experiences with company and puchased thousands of dollars in merchandise from them over several years until now. Ordered two Apple iPod Touches which were descrbed on J&R's website product description as the "software upgraded version","the latest iPod Touch", and "the new iPod Touch." Thinking we were ordering the "latest" iPod touch at that time (the Gen. II) we ordered two, however, received two Gen. I iPod touches instead. J&R offered us a $10 gift card in compensation. During our email exchanges they eventually admitted that this inaccurate descrition was left over from pre Gen. II iPod touch days and that the "latest iPod Touch" referred to the FREE 1.1.4 firmwear upgrade of 1st Gen. Touch. Offer of compensation for our unwanted purchase of two Generation I iPod touches for $546 increased to a gift card of $20 or a $10 refund and no acceptance of responsibility for the description online. J&R later sent bogus copy of web page to credit card company, fortunately had screen captures of the real page and product description. When I faxed a copy of this to J&R asking them to comment on why they had sent American Express a different web page, I got no response at all. They refused any further refund but I guess American Express to believe me because they gave me $60 in compensation themselves to keep me from dropping the card if they didn't take action on the charge. A year later I still grind my teeth when I think about how I was treated by this company. Haven't bought another piece of electronics from this company since and never will again. What are they thinking when they treat an established customer like this???
What product did you purchase or try to purchase? iPod Touch Gen 2 (two)
