| nodnarb788's Full Review: Pinnacle Systems Studio DV Firewire |
I bought this card, softwear bundle at circuit city, hoping I could put together some good movies. I thought it was kind cool at first (before I hardly new anything about digital video editing) until I worked with someone else's computer with Adobe Premeire 6 and Matrox RT2000 (A realtime professional system). It was about then when I realized that the Pinacle Systems studio dv was awful. You it takes about a half an hour to render a 7 minute video. Of course it has transitions and titles and other things like that, but you can't do an kind of slow motion or make the picture brighter. I would only reccomend this to a person that didn't care about any advanced features and just wanted to spend a little time putting together home videos. I would reccomend to anyone else maybe looking at buying the DV500 plus or even the matrox rt2500. (I am hoping to be editing with one soon, so look out for my review). The big differences are they have much better softwears (Adobe Premiere) and the capture cards are so much quicker and faster. Also, can capture alalog video unlike the studio dv card.
