BOYCOTT CIRCUIT CITY

Apr 02 '07

The Bottom Line Why would anyone want to shop at a store that treats its employees so shabbily?

In what could be a trend-setting maneuver that harms every American worker in our country if not stopped, Circuit City has announced that they are going to lay off 3,400 store employees and replace them immediately with lower paid new hires. Laid off employees can reapply after 10 days to get their former jobs, at a lower rate of pay. What makes this transgression so much worse is that the company freely admits that they are doing this.

America, we can’t stand for this type of abomination to workers rights. If this is allowed to happen, every worker in the country that has a good paying job is threatened with termination of pay and benefits to restore the company’s bottom line! They have taken away pensions and now they want to take away your time.

I can't even see straight right now I am so PO'd.
Seriously, this is a major hit on the working sector of our economy.
The blue collar guy goes to work for 10 years scratching and clawing to get pay raises and seniority in a company that then lets him go, hires someone they can pay less, but worse than that offer the guy his same job at a substantially lower wage.
This can't be allowed to happen once.

I won’t stand for it!

I am asking everyone that reads this to pass it on and join an immediate boycott of Circuit City! I will not buy one more item from this mega store that treads so heavily on the people that make them who they are.

Circuit City is now closed for me and my family!
