Canadians feel my pain

The Bottom Line Is it really worth it?

So as Canadians we all know that we have to reach $100 before we can redeem. But what you may not know is that you have to jump through a thousand hoops in order to get it. First you have to download a form from the IRS ( the link from Epinions doesn’t work, so you have to hunt it down on the IRS website. The form is called a W-7 form which looks simple enough, until you notice that you have to submit ID. The ID that they want has to be either the original, a certified or notarized copy. (If you have ever had anything notarized you know that it costs around $50). I don’t know about you but I am not spending $50 to get $100. And I am defiantly not sending them my passport.
So after you have filled out your W-7 form and waited 6-8 weeks you then have to fill out another IRS form (W-8 I believe), again the link doesn’t work so you have to find that one as well. This form you send off to Epinions and again wait.
I have just reached the $100 mark and I am feeling like the whole process isn’t worth it. We work our butts off trying to write intelligent and informative reviews, then we have to wait until we reach $100, and then we have to do even more to get the money that we earned. I have gotten money from other American sites and didn’t have to wait until I reached $100 before getting it and I definitely didn’t have to fill to any IRS forms.
On top of all of that they will take 0-30% of my $100 for taxes.
So now my dilemma is do I write more reviews and wait until I reach an amount of money to make all the hoops worthwhile? Or do I just cut my losses and give up on Epinions all together?

**Side Note- the Epinions spell check does not recognise the word Epinions. This site is awesome!
