Thanks for your comment, Gary.
There's an excellent small, private Liberal Arts College in northern Minnesota whose sports teams are known as the "Cobbers". (They grow corn up in that area.) The cheerleaders and other Coeds there are called "Cobberbutts."
They say the U OF M went to artificial turf in their football stadium in order to discourage the Iowa cheerleaders from grazing during the game.
No wonder SJB Custom is in demnand!

Hi Gavia,
Crimaneersman, I got that SMSM stuff, too, dontchaknowthen. It's my dad's fault, right down to the skinny ankles. Could be worse. I worked with a guy who almost overnight went from downright skinny to downright skinny with a enormous bubble butt. I thought that only happened to Scandahoovian females.

It is possible to be both biographical AND retail, gavia.
It would be of interest if you actually did find out whether or not the 13 year-old seamstresses or the computer fitted the khakis expertly to your mogrifications. We know what Jack Abramoff would prefer.
Anyway, great review.

Hi Tony--Thanks for your suggestions---but I opted to take the opposite tac and added a bit of text to make clear it's a biographical anecdote, NOT a review. Just wanted to share the good news about findiong a way to buy khakis that fit---and that's my only real familiarity with JCP.com---
I've enjoyed your comments on Curtailing Carbon!

I guess I could see how it wouldn't be well received as a review of JCP.com. I knew I'd heard of St. John's Bay, and I was pretty sure they were a house brand of one of the dept. store chains, I just couldn't remember which one.
Knowing where to get the pants is enough to make this VH for me. But I suspect anyone who finds it at all will wonder, as I did, what it's doing here and not in the category containing JCP.com. It might be worth your while to beef it up a little to make it a full review of JCP.com. It shouldn't take much, maybe a paragraph each on the site's usability, shipping costs and options, return policy. (When I say "worth your while" I'm referring to the whopping several cents Epinions might pay you for posting the review there). I think it would certainly be seen by more people. But I'm also fine with you leaving it right here just as it is.

Hi Tizzo--
I will add some info about how to order this service for anyone who may be interested.
I thought of this as more biographical humor than a review---but I posted it originally as a review of JCP.com. It was not well received there because I have little to say about JCP in general---just this very limited commentary on the custom tailoring service they offer in their St Johns Bay house brand. So---I reposted it in Writers Corner. Sorry you didn't find it very helpful!
BTW---I think it's a great example of a service and product made possible with global cooperation by modern technology. The sort of thing Friedman spoke of in his book "The World is Flat"---meaning the playing field has been leveled by technology!
Regards

. . . where do you order them?
And why an essay? Is there no category for this?
Anyway, sounds like a fantastic product. My Dad is in a similar situation. Completely different body type, but the same problem.
