Ease of Ordering:
Terrible. They have no idea what is in stock until they try to ship it. The "Check your Order Status" website that they refere you to has conflicting info and totally false information. Mine said it was shipped in the detail and then "Held for Call" on another location on the web order form. They default shipped status on every order even though it hasn't actually shipped. Then if it isn't in stock and you ordered other items they hold the whole order and don't send you an e-mail or notice that your order is being held. I spend $10K on my credit card leading up to Christmas frm a variety of vendors. For Optics Planet I had to go through a "manual" process of getting my credit card verified because of a miss match of "address" in thier system. Seriously... I charged 100's of items before and after this and never had an issue online. They charge $1.36 on your card and then you have to call them back with the amount when you see it on your statement. I was able to log in the same day and call them back and then they "ok'd it for payment" but even then the customer service didn't mentioned anything about items not in stock. I doubt anyone knows until they look in a box in some warehouse after they show it has shipped.
