I'm Back (Reply to this comment)
by lawman67
I wrote that last comment two-years-ago, and finally I'm back.
My new (to me) 1980 Suzuki and I hope to make the ride to Sturgis next summer, though sorting the old bike out for touring is already well underway.

Fond memories (Reply to this comment)
by lawman67
I used to tour all over the United States on a 500cc Honda CX500. It was heavy, slow and handled like a pig, but I enjoyed every one of tho 50,000 or so miles I put on it.
I moved up to bigger and nicer bikes, always enjoying the ride, and now am looking forward to getting back into motorcycle touring after a 15 year break.
Great article, thanks for the memories.

Nice advice Good info ! (Reply to this comment)

I suppose I am different ??..or perhaps a little crazy...
I have "toured" ALL around Israel for the last 7 1/2 years..and done more than 80000kms...
on (8 different 50cc scooters),
scootering at a comfy speed so I can see things.. and stop.
I have learned to travel with minimal luggage and "stuff"..
and most of my travels are for 2 nights away from home and sleeping at Youth Hostels.
I have today May 7 2007...bought a 90cc scooter
which will have the same minimal storage space, and I guess that extra bit of power to allow a little more speed....when I need.
Keep writing these interesting reviews.
