VT Will Prevail!

The Bottom Line Tragedy will come in most ideal places.
The VT poet
Tells the world
We will prevail
Virginia Tech will prevail!
Will the poet's lyrics and rhythm
Turn the evil wind
Back and banish
The sounds and sights
Of the darkest depths
Of the darkest abyss of hell
Permeating and usurping
The idealist Academia ?
Will the poet's magic wand
And mighty power of words
( " The pen is mightier than the sword " )
Erase the surreal scenes
Of officers scurrying
Nowhere and too late
Or deaden the sounds of
Glock missiles of death
Snuffing the lives
And dreams of the 32
Or 33?
Akin to a scythe from hell
Cutting thru a field of poppies
Or devouring flames over
Ripe and golden harvest.
Nevertheless
Virginia Tech will prevail
Arresting the engulfing darkness
The inky night breaking
To a glorious dawn of
Tens of thousands candlelights
And millions more tongues
Of fires of resolves and courage
Refusing to succumb to
Helplessness and falterings
And sins of omissions
Of powers- that - be
Of corporate lucre and apathy
Of greedy merchants of death
Of security assumptions and breaches
That turned deadly
( The good hunter of the wild who
wounds the escaping tiger will
not rest until he shoots and finds
the wounded tiger dead .)
And VT will erase from memory
What " that idiot "
( Said the grand aunt from the
Land far far away. )
had done
who wielded Cain's hands of death
And will see the dawnings of
Of millions of brighter mornings
Of hope and triumphs
of courage and determinations
Forgetting what happened in that
Fateful and dark day in 2007.
