The ultimate comeback – LADYCYNIC!

May 26 '07

The Bottom Line Welcome back LC

First I must warn you, dear reader, this is a yarn in the true Australian tradition – meaning it wanders all over the joint but makes the odd point here and there. Some call it laconic, others …. well you decide.

Once upon a time, about five years ago, I had the fortune to meet, via Epinions that strangest of women, LadyCynic.

We have absolutely nothing in common.

She is female – I’m not.

She’s a Yank – I’m an Australian

She’s tattooed from head to foot – I’m…well….not

In those days she could write and I couldn’t. Now she can write and at least I can try.

Despite all that we have become bloody good mates and have each helped each other in some pretty dire times – despite the distance of one and a half continents and the Pacific Pond.

Even my wife likes her!

I can’t tell you how incredible it is to see LadyCynic writing again. She has been through a lot – a lot more than you can imagine but I can’t tell you anything about that whatsoever (I live in fear of the Australian Secret Service).

But what I can tell you is that sometimes, just sometimes miracles do happen and what a surprise for me to see LadyCynic back.

Wifey and I would never have imagined it and in her usual style she waited until we were away on holidays to make the big comeback.

We had nicked over to the peninsular, Yorke Peninsular that is, about thirty kilometres across the water from Adelaide. Unless you look at a map that won’t mean much – or you might think of Italy – it kind of looks like that. A tiny area of South Australia only about a hundred kilometres long and about an hour and a half’s drive away.

There is bugger all over there – and that’s its appeal.

Regardless the accommodation is fantastic (always stay at Golden Chain motels when in Australia – and there are two on the Yorke – if you want really fair dinkum value for money and like us need some considerable creature comforts.

Anyway it was a nice rest made even better seeing that Virginian lush, LadyCynic back on the ‘net.

Makes me feel like writing again but I make no promises because I am just so busy at work these days I don’t know which way to turn.

Now I did warn you this is a yarn – all true but in no particular order.

The major point is that I, and I know many of the older, and no doubt some of the younger, Epinioners, welcome LadyCynic back more than she will ever believe.

Good onya LC
