The ABSOLUTE worst customer service experience in history. BUYER BEWARE!!!
I purchased an HP desktop computer from ecost only to have it NOT working out of the box. I called HP and they said that after we troubleshooted that it was a motherboard issue.
- 2/1 called ecost to get information regarding a return (Return Authorization #) as the product did not work from the moment it came out of the box. I was told that they would process the request and I would receive an RA# in 48-72 hours.
- 2/3 called back in the afternoon and was told that I would have the RA# by the end of the next business day; never received it.
- 2/4 - called back and told that the "Product Manager" had to approve the return before I would get an RA#. Was also told that the issue was 'escalated'.
- 2/5 - called back in the late afternoon as i have not received this RA#. Was told that the Product Manager has not responded to their request.
- 2/9 - gave them Monday to sort it out...no call or email. So I called again on 2/9 and asked for a supervisor. Spoke with a "James" who oddly sounded like the Jeff and Ed I spoke with the week before. Said that he would "take ownership" of the case and call me back with an update before the EOD. No such call was ever received.
- 2/10 - called again. Being told by support that they have not heard back from this "Product Manager". I asked them what kind of business are they running where someone could spend a hard earned $500 and be left to sit here waiting on some phantom "Product Manager" to approve the RA#.
Nothing has been resolved and I have been screwed out of $500 by these losers. They have the same 2 or 3 customer service reps that always change their name when answering the phone.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and have sent a letter to the Attorney General. I also disputed this with American Express.
I am sure that I am one of HUNDREDS faced with this same experience. How can they stay in business!?!?!?!
