I ordered a replacement carafe for my Braun coffeemaker. The order was shipped fast (only three days), but upon receipt, realized that Goodman's had shipped the wrong carafe. I called their customer service department, was asked to describe the item/model that was received, and then asked whose initials were on the packing slip (I'm not sure as to why they do this...do they go after this person and give them their walking papers?) Anyway, I was told that a no-charge replacement replacement shipment with the correct carafe will be sent that day, with a return postage label for the incorrect carafe that I received. Five days later, the correct carafe arrives (yay!), with a return postage label as promised, but...the return label is $2.35 LESS than the actual cost to ship the "wrong" carafe. HUH? Sure enough, when I brought the wrong carafe to the post office for to return it, I had to pay an EXTRA $2.35 to ship it. My Braun carafe cost me a total of : $16.99 + $9.18 shipping PLUS $2.35 to return their WRONG shipment = $28.52. I did call their customer service dept on 2/5/10 and spoke to a nice young woman named "Kelly" who informed me that she will discuss with one of the managers on 2/9 (none there apparently at that time) and promised to call me back then. I'm still waiting for the return phone call.
HEY GOODMAN'S - theEssentials.com sells this same carafe for $13.99...and since this item is now conveniently "out of stock" at Goodman's, according to your website, if I have to replace this carafe, guess where I'm going to buy it next?
