Stuck With Shoddy ISP Service In Michigan!

The Bottom Line I am tired of shoddy internet service, wasting time calling technical support with no results. I am sick of dealing with an ISP who does not care about its customers.

Throughout much of the past weekend, my family has been without internet access once again. This is not the first time, and I doubt it will be the last. We get our access through a company called M33 Access, which pretty much has a monopoly on the high-speed internet access in our area, so unless we wish to go back to the dialup, we are pretty much stuck with their shoddy service.

We signed up for a three-year contract with them for their satellite internet service. The contract expires in August, and I have been hoping that some other company would offer internet access in the area by that time. Things are not looking too promising though, and the past couple of years have been a big waste of time and money, not to mention a tremendous amount of frustration.

Over the past couple of years, we have been forced to call their technical support people a ridiculous amount of times, and usually get no satisfaction whatsoever. I make a call and they tell me they will look into the problem and call me back, then when I give up and call them back an hour later, nobody knows that there is a problem. My family spent more than seven hours dealing with their technical support today alone, and still no results. This was after being without service for most of the weekend.

Each time, it comes down to this company wanting to charge a huge service call to send someone out to our home to see what the problem is. Since the problem was ongoing since installation, I would assume that it was obviously never installed correctly in the first place. I will not pay for a service call when they should fix their mistakes free of charge.

I do not know if there is anyplace that I can file a formal complaint against this company, so I guess for now I will just get it off my chest here. I am angry. I am very angry. They do this very often, and I do not deserve to be treated this way.
