My Top 10 Games of All Time
Jun 10 '07
The Bottom Line These don't have to be the best in everyone's eyes, but maybe it will change a few minds in this world when you discover the pure beauty of them.
10. Frogger
9. Ms. Pac Man
8. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
7. Spyro: Year of the Dragon
6. Crash Bandicoot: Warped - Most people overlook this game for being the first platform game in history to allow you to have over five different powers and being able to play as more than one character. Besides Ape Escape, this is the best time travel game out there, for the simple reason that the suspense, mystery, excitement and fun never ends. From racing aliens on a motorcycle, to battling a human cyborg in space, you'll want to tell your friends about this one.
5. Ape Escape - Two words, and they are "damn creative". The first game to use entirely the analog sticks, rather than the D-Pad, this is quite a challenge. Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome game, for you travel across time through different lands, capturing those pesky apes.
4. Road Rash 3D - Ever thought of going on a Sunday drive around the coast? How about for a cruise through the mountains? It's all here in the best motorcycle racing game ever. From so many different awesome bikes of your choice to choose from, you race in this new and improved 3D form of the classic Road Rash.
3. Spyro the Dragon - I know what you're thinking, way to kiddie. Play it, and you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that this dragon kicks it in so many different ways. From supercharging in the tree tops to gliding across canyons, it's all here in this masterpiece of a game. It's also a masterpiece because Stewart Copeland of the Police is at his musical peak in this game. That's right.
2. Rayman - Easily the most creative game of all time, Rayman was the beginning to a huge success for a new era of platforming games. Who before thought of a guy with no arms or legs or neck that could kick some serious? Who before thought of (all some of the most beautiful places you'll ever see in a game) a dream forest, a band land, picture city, etc? Shame on you, for not liking this game.
1. Sly 2: Band of Thieves - And, here it is! - my favorite video game of all time: Sly 2: Band of Thieves. As lame as you may think this sounds, if you've played it and didn't at least like it, you're sick and demented. Who can say they don't like this game? After all, the incredible shadings, landmarks and state-of-the-art drawings are above average to begin with. But what really stuns me is the amount of adventure and expanded array of strange, yet incredible activies that are yours for the taking. From ripping eagle eggs off from a Candian island, battling a hypnotic prison warden, pickpocketing thugs, battling a chopper in the Western Ghats of India, making an elephant go mad to break a communication array, filling a jet pack full of gas to soar above the clouds and, you've guessed it, stealing radio collars off of Grizzlies, the possibilites of this game are endless. This is one hell of an adventure that you really need to take! NOW!
