I bought a pair of Northface pants from Altrec.com and when they arrived, they weren't quite what I thought they were based on the description. I immediately sent them back via USPS using Altrec's on-line RMA label.
Two weeks from the time they should have arrived back to Altrec, I called asking why my debit card had not been credited yet. The rep. said they were still processing returns received back on Jan 20 and this was Feb 17. But if I had a tracking number, he could expedite it. I didn't get one. Didn't think I'd need it. He said give it another week though he sounded like that probably wouldn't be enough time anyway.
I called the next week and the lady told me the same thing and couldn't give me an eta. After I noted that their return policy states crediting within "10 business days", the rep. finally said she'd send the returns dept. an email to try and expedite it(Not sure why that wasn't offered the first time). But not before disputing my estimation of how many days it had been. She was trying to count the exact number of business days it had been, not even knowing when they received it. And as if they would have even be close to meeting that policy anyway. How could they? There were three weeks of returns ahead of mine!
Bottom line: This was my first and last experience with Altrec.com. I'd consider giving them a second chance but their customer reps. didn't seem to care if I came back or not. Too many other companies selling the same things for the same prices with more customer-focused business practices.
