My Abe's shopping experience was anything but smooth.

I ordered a Sony KDL40W5100 40" BRAVIA 1080p LCD HDTV with 120 Hz from Abe's of New Jersey, er Maine, and have received nothing going on one month later. I decided to order from Abe's because the combination of low price and Free Shipping was the best deal out there. And Abe's was tagged as a "Trusted Seller" by one of the big shopping engines.
About a week after placing the order I got a call at work from Abe's telling me my order was being processed and asking me if I had any questions. I remember thinking "Wow! What awesome customer service! You get a personal follow-up call just to ask you if you have any questions. What a great company!"
About 5 minutes later the smooth talking "Customer Service" guy had talked me into $300 worth of add-on products (cables and surge protector) Warranty and "Truck" shipping (with Double boxing! Unlike the crappy old single boxing that would come with the free UPS shipping). He ended the call by saying he'd get my shipment out to me "this afternoon, buddy".
Well, the afternoon came and went and my Order Status did not change. Same story next day and the day after that. Since my Sony had not yet left the building I decided to take the opportunity to cancel the $300 worth of stuff I didn't want in the first place so called Abe's. The guy I spoke to wasn't real happy to cancel, especially the Warranty that cost me about $150. He tried scaring me into how expensive it would be to get someone to come to my house to make a repair but I wasn't going for it. He finally relented but ended the call with the words "I hope it doesn't break".
So now I was just going to get the Sony TV with Free Shipping, which is what I wanted from the start, but about 2 weeks had passed. So I start waiting again. And waiting. But the Order Status doesn't change after 10 days so I call Abe's again to see what the deal is. The next guy I get (doesn't this company have any females working for it?) tells me he'll have to go check "with the warehouse" to see what's going on. He comes back about two minutes later to tell that particular TV is "out of stock" and he's not sure when they'll get more in. Did I want to cancel or continue to wait?
It didn't take me long to decide. Cancel the stinkin' thing and let me buy from a company that has its act together! My first shopping Experience with Abe's will be my last.
