No good deed goes unpunished. My only reason for purchasing my Sony 53" KP-53HS30 TV from this outfit was that I just wanted to support a business in NY City. ( I heart NY.) Hoping to help them compensate for business lost since September. I ordered via internet, but was told I would have to call their store the next business day to confirm my order. (Why?)
When I called them back as requested,it really was only an opportunity for them to try to sell me an extended warranty, which I had declined on the internet.
I declined again, telephonically.
I called Love4Digital again to get a tracking number for my TV, I was put on hold and spoke to 4 different people, before I was asked to call back after 7pm, because they were too busy at the moment because "UPS" was there. Great, I love UPS.
What he did not mention however, was that UPS was in no way involved in MY TV delivery. Turns out my TV was given to another company called "Danzas". (Who?)
I was not impressed with Love4Digital's knowledge of the products that they sell. When I asked if this model was HDTV-capable, I was told to go to a Sony site and look it up. "I can't do the work for you," he said. This is something a salesman should know about a TV he is selling. Professional sales people have basic product knowledge.
When I called Love4Digital to tell them I was still waiting for my TV after 11 days. They had no idea where it was and took the opportunity to try and sell me a DVD player for $625.
(Please know, only a glutton for punishment would order a second time from these guys.)
When I was explaining to the salesman the features I wanted on a DVD player (and why). He didn't seem to know what progressive scan does, about on-board decoder vs. DTS pass-thru, or what
"interlaced" meant. I wanted him to know more than me.
During this exchange, he replies, "You know some ****", which I ignored. After two more vulgar comments, (worse.) which I will not type, even with stars**. I stopped him and said "Is this how you speak to your customers on the phone? It's very inappropriate."
I think with all of the sites out there selling electronics, it won't be hard to find one better than this one.
Trying to locate my prodigal TV was an adventure, where I got to meet more colorful people, all of whom had made notations of how poorly packed the TV was and how damaged the cardboard carton was and how it was like that when they got it.
I told shipping personnel from NY to Seattle, the weight, 208 pounds (heavy AND awkward.) I mentioned repeatedly that it would take 2 men to handle the TV. I was told by all I spoke to that there would be two men with strong backs to deliver my Christmas present to me.
The shipping elf also told me, "I hope no one told you we were bringing it inside your house and taking the packaging away." "Well, yes they did." I replied. He says, "We usually just set it in the garage." "But I don't have a garage." I say, beginning to lose my holiday spirit.
To make a long story endless, when the TV does finally arrive, there is only one delivery guy. Are you surprised?
"Where's your help?" I ask. He laughs, "Who told you there would be help?" "Everyone I talked to," I reply. He is amused.
I passed up a deal that had free shipping on big screen TV's, so I could pay $226 extra, shipping and handling, so I could handle it myself. He is amused, I am not. We grunt together and lift on three.
It was at that very moment I decided to write a review of Love4Digital. The salesman on the phone had said, "Epinions? Don't listen to them!". Now I know why, because Epinions is a place to hear what other people think. Something Love4Digital is not interested in.
I waited a long time to purchase a new big-screen dream machine, and what should have been a wonderful experience, wasn't.
I wanted to patronize a business that was hurt by losing sales in September and what I found out was they could care less about their business, and even less about their customers. If any friend of mine asked me if they should make a purchase from Love4Digital. I would say, "Do yourself a favor, no."
