Aye, I think you're probably right there. He went a bit overboard, and he keeps over-correcting in trying to fix all the things he messed up... Rose stands in contrast to that, and I really hope that her character comes into sharper focus over the next three seasons.
Incidentally, I see O'Quinn is starring in a new Twilight Zone-esque show that starts in August. I'm eager to check it out, but I hope this doesn't mean we won't be seeing much of him on LOST anymore...

I loved Locke's character this early on, and you capture him so well here. I've not been as sure what to do with him later...more due to the direction the writing has taken than the actor, I think. Sometimes I think if he had just revelled in this moment a bit more as the sheer grace it was, and not got so hung up on what he had to DO in response to it, perhaps he would have been better off, and so would some of the other islanders. (That's "other" with a small "o"...not a capital one)!
