The Bottom Line This is a poem I wrote a few months ago using my pen name Sage. I hope you like it!
This is a poem I wrote a few months ago using my pen name Sage. I hope you like it! I posted it to my website of poetry and stuff (called Extreme Randomness, search the web for it if you're interested, I'm not going to link to it right here so I don't get considered a spammer) but almost nobody actually visits that website, and I wanted to see what the world thought of it so here it is, comments are greatly appreciated!
Lemonade Rivers
They were sitting on the mountaintop
Remembering the lemonade rivers
And the days of bubblegum pop
Longing for what once was
They'd been the best of friends
They saw the world together
But they were to meet unfortunate ends
They hadn't trusted their Creator
Out of fear, they lost track their vision
Out of pressure, they gave in
They conformed to society's division
They followed the world's dream
God's desires put aside for the church
keep people in their comfort zone
while the bluejay rests on the birch
even though it was born to fly
Where had the world taken them?
What happened to their dreams?
Bluejay fell off the stem
Vision crashed into devil's plot
They woke up from their dream
They saw it was all a nightmare
There they were - lollipops and banana cream
They walked down, with new resolve
Never to let their nightmare become reality
Carry the call they must
In spite of the devil's brutality
They seek after His will
Tomorrow they take a leap out
Knowing they have each other
No matter what they doubt
They will press on
