50 Reviews by Halloween Write-Off

The Bottom Line Join the fun.... try to write 50 reviews between Aug. 20, 2007 and Oct. 31, 2007
Have you been in a slump lately? Maybe not… maybe you're looking to achieve a goal and you need some incentive? Or, maybe none of these things… but you love a good challenge.
Okay… then do I have the Write-Off for you !!
Here's the challenge. Write 50 (overall Helpful or better) reviews by Halloween (between today[8/20/07] and 10/31/07). Sounds simple enough, right? Well, I'm going to throw in a few extras.
Be one of the first 10 people to complete 50 reviews before Halloween 2007, and you'll win a prize. Really…. I'm not kidding!! Okay, Okay… it's not any huge trophy or big sum of money or anything (I'm only a "regular Joe-Epinionater" just like you, you know).
So, what will you win, if you're one of the first 10? A handmade, personalized key chain that says I Love Epinions.com, with your Member Name and what place you came in (for example: JoeShmoe #4). You can check out My Profile Page to see a picture of what it will look like (where you see my name on the examples, your name will be on yours).
What should you write about?… Well… anything you want, really. But, remember, the reviews have to be rated overall Helpful or better, Express Reviews don't count, and Writer's Corner pieces have to be along the lines of Advice (Epinions advice, parenting advice, electronics advice, beauty advice, etc), or be about Products/Services, or have info/tips that help folks out.... Fictional stories, poems, lyrics, etc.. don't count, sorry. Why am I not counting fictional pieces? Well.. frankly, I know that most of us could whip out 50 fictional pieces in no time flat… and Epinions is really meant more for products and services, right?
Your review doesn't have to be a "firstie", it just has to have an Overall Helpful rating (or better).
How do you "sign up" to participate? If you want to join the Write-off, email me (copesullivan@aol.com) with your Epinions Member Name, and a link to your profile page. In the "RE:" section (or subject line) of your Email, put: Epinions 50 Review Write-off (this is so I can weed your emails out in the event that they happen to go to spam). Also, do not enclose any pictures, gifs, images, or attachments in your email (unfortunately, these things automatically go to spam in my AOL account, and I might not see your email).
When I get your email, I'll add your Member name (linked to your profile page) to the bottom of this write-up. Oh… and also… no "umm… well… I don't know, I'll see if I can write 50 reviews, and after I do, I'll email her saying I want to participate". Nope… In order to participate, you need to make your initial contact with me (saying you want in) by at least September 20th (that gives you a month to decided if you want to participate. And, that way, I don't get an email on Oct. 31st saying "sign me up, here's my 50 reviews that I wrote".
From there, once you complete and post a review, email me with a link to your review (again RE: Epinions 50 Review Write-off). I will NOT read and rate each and every review. But, I will keep track of how many you've written, and periodically (periodically = when I have the time… could be daily, could be every couple of days… LOL), I will update this write-up with the number of reviews you've successfully completed beside your name (Example: JoeSchmoe……… 15 ).
Don't get dismayed if 10 people reach 50 before you do. Keep up the personal challenge to see if you can do it !! After Oct. 31st , I'll do a final update here, with the names of everyone who successfully completed 50 reviews by the deadline.
