I have been driving this car for about 2 years and have been very pleased overall.
However, I am going to seek the new m3 for my next car for various reasons. Firstly, if I am spending that Kind of money, why should I settle for a 0-60 in roughly 7+ seconds (with the tiptronic version) if I can get an m3 and do it in 4.7?
Also, its 12 gallon gas tank is a real pain if you drive a lot. You will find you constantly have to refill the tank.
Although rain driving is not bad, driving in the snow even if it is only 2 inches will prove to be a hassle.
The m3 also has back seats, and the new SMG awesome transmission option.
Having said all that, I must say however that if you want to show off a little, the Boxster really does the trick. It is a ton of fun in nice weather when you can take down the top and extremely showy especially if you have a flamboyant color like yellow or red. Apparently I am too much of a sports car enthusiast to settle for its relatively low performance numbers.
With regard to its suspension, it is unbelievable. The feel of the car is also excellent - not just numbers. I dont care how much G a car can pull: If it is rickety and the turn doesnt feel right (like a corvette), forget it!
As far as my problem about the car's steering wheel shaking, it only does this at speeds between 75-100 mph. Below that or above that, it is usually shakeless. Anyone have a clue why this happens?
Going 120 mph, it will not shake; but at 95mph the steering wheel will vibrate: Interesting.
