sax (Reply to this comment)

Jerome Richardson played sax on several Steely Dan albums. Phil Woods did the solo on Doctor Wu. Wayne Shorter, Tom Scott and Peter Christlieb played sax on the Aja album. Michael Brecker, David Sanborn and Ronny Cuber played sax on Gaucho. Lanny Morgan, Bill Perkins, Ernie Watts and John Rotella played sax on Countdown to Ecstasy. Hope that helps clarify the situation. Nice review btw. I am happy to see Maceo getting much deserved recognition.

I wish I could work the saxophone! I am re learning guitar which is fun. I don't think I have the breath to play the sax though!
GO for It by the way! I am glad I picked up the guitar again. I'm 42, and I don't think you are ever to old to learn (or relearn)

Re: I'm with you on Rouse (Reply to this comment)

I know many jazz aficionados would of course place Parker and Rollins ahead of Getz, but its just a personal preference for me, and it occasionally changes on my mood.
Coltrane on the other hand, I don't care what the books say, he is my favorite and I consider him to be the best. Its hard to argue art, it's too subjective! It's cool that you like Monk and Rouse! I just discovered Monk (and Rouse by association) fairly recently!

Saxophone! (Reply to this comment)

I used to play alto in high school and loved it. I played soprano for awhile, too, and you've got me itching to play again!
Great,
