It was one of my worst online experiences:
I bought a netbook for my mom around 7 am on may 5th, 2010, I explained to them that my mom lives out of the country and I wanted to get the netbook the latest by friday 7th because I was going out of the country on sunday at 6 am via JFK airport in NYC , UPS nor FEDEX deliver on weekends. I was told by a salesman that everything would be fine and as soon as they verify my bank info the item would be shipped right away, THEY PLACED A HOLD ON MY BANK ACCOUNT 5 MINS AFTER I PLACED THE ORDER, even in their own website they explain that 1-2 business days means orders are usually shipped the same day if places before 4 pm EST. The day I placed the order I was contacted by a person from " verifications", I wont mention names or the phone I was called from, after veryfing my info, and explaining to him again my situation he assured me I would be getting the netbook for my mom on thursday may 6th or friday 7th, that it was already sent for fullfilment. On May 6th, after I came home from work around 2:45 am, I called customer service just to check the status of my order, and the lady told me, THE ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME IS MAY 10TH, as she says it shows on her computer, THEY LIED TO ME JUST TO GET ME TO BUY even saying that they would " prioritize" my order, and the CR even suggested I cancel the order which I had to do, now thanks to buy,com I will have no present for my mom and they are holding the money until who knows when, the CR lady also told me BUY.COM USES DROPSHIPPING, meaning it was up to a third party when my item would be shipped, I talked to 3 people, heard 3 different lies, until I spoke to the CR lady who told me the truth and suggested I cancelled the order, now I will have to buy my mom something cheaper when I have been saving 254 dollars working overtime to get her a netbook so we can see each other in camera, she lives 4000 miles away and Im going home now empty handed thanks to buy.com, THEY ARE LIARS AND MAYBE EVEN THIEVES, as they told me what I wanted to hear just to get me to place an order
