How I Found Homeclick
As an Interior Designer and someone who continuously loves tweaking my own home I found out about Homeclick around 8 months ago through calling the Toto company directly and asking them who they would recommend for me to purchase a Toto Toilet I wanted to purchase online. They referred me to Homeclick and when i asked why Homeclick I was told by this most pleasant girl (Cant Remember her name off hand) that she has had many customers call them over the years and tell them what a pleasant experience they had purchasing from Toto from Homeclick.com.
Negative Reviews Naturally I started digging into the company and found some not so flattering reviews on Homeclick from members here but after looking more carefully realized that some of these reviews really date back some time so I decided to act on the Toto representative's referral and give them a shot.
World Of Homeclick - Product Assortment
So let me begin by saying the Homeclick.com's website is really a decorator/homeowners dream. I have shopped at other stores in the past like CSN, Lighting Direct, etc. and always found it somewhat annoying to have to go to multiple websites to purchase all of the products in different categories.
Homeclick has basically all of their products under one roof (so to speak). Some of the categories they carry are Bath Fixtures, Kitchen Sinks/Faucets, All Large Appliances (Aside from Viking which was disappointing), Outdoor, Lighting, and even Fireplaces (Which I have no use for). They basically carry all of the brands that you would need such as Kohler, Toto, Dacor (Dont recommend them), Hinkley, Progress Lighting, DCS, Firemagic, Grohe and the list goes on and on.
Website Functionality I would rate them 4 out of 5 stars for the actual functionality of their website. It is quick, easy to navigate, products are segregated into the different categories very well so it doesn't become overwhelming going shopping on their website.
My only knock as far as their website would go is that some of the images doesn't seem as sharp as I would like it to be and sometimes had to go to the manufacturers websites to see a better picture of the product.
They do have a great breakdown on the left side in each category that makes it easy to shop by color (huge plus for me), size, price range, etc. basically all that you would need when wanting to get down to specific attributes in a product you are looking for.
Pricing They have a great program for Professionals like myself and while their pricing is definitely not the absolute cheapest online, I have learnt the hard way in the past (Homecenter, homeannex) that the cheapest price, in the long run might cost you the most money and aggravation.
They are flexible though and if the pricing make sense they will price match. To quote one of their sales people who told me "We will price match as long as we are making money but cant compete with companies that don't want to make money"
Call Center I have so far dealt with 3 different sales people/Customer Service people on the 5 orders that I have placed with them so far. One of them and I wont mention names was somewhat rude but when I called back on my next order and spoke to one of the gals there and mentioned that the gentleman I spoke to previously wasnt that pleasant she mentioned to me that he was no longer with the company and that management really does not tolerate such behavior which is refreshing.
The other two girls I have been dealing with exclusively could not be more helpful. They always know the answers on product questions or if not they will promptly call the manufacturer for me and either put me on hold or call me back. These products and categories that they carry and sell can be quiet complex but they seem to be very well trained.
Delivery So as I mentioned I have placed 5 orders with them and while the majority of the orders/deliveries have been seamless without any problems there definitely has been some problems with some of the deliveries/lead times.
There was one Kohler faucet I ordered that was suppose to be in stock but I was emailed the next day that it went on back order and wont be shipped for 2 weeks. There was also one delivery that came on a truck and the driver was less than pleasant so to speak.
Overall though it has really been a great experience with them from ordering to delivery. In this industry we are in products we expect there to be some issues and as I am sure most of you know make sure to plan ahead when doing a remodel or renovation which i try to really express into my clients.
Returns I had to return 2 products and it went smoothly receiving my refund two days after they received it at their facility. They do charge a restock fee which everyone should be aware of but if you reorder they usually will work with you on the restock fee.
Overview
I would and have recommended Homeclick to all of my colleagues and friends. In this industry with all the variety and different options that there is today Homeclick really carries the main brands (In the lighting category they do lack some larger brand names but I was told they will be adding more brands over the next few months) and lays them out very well throughout the website.
Aside from furniture and flooring which they do not sell you really can get all the products for you home you would need including a great outdoor selection.
Website and call center people are top notch but have had one or two issues with back orders/delivery.
