I've been shopping at Amazon for awhile with no problems whatsoever. Then, I ordered a telescope in early December, with free ground shipping. They showed the scope in stock, usually ships in 24 hours. I ordered it and an accessory lens. The lens shipped the next day and arrived as expected. The telescope was another story. It was back ordered. Three weeks later it arrived (the availability information must have been wrong). My problem with Amazon wasn't any of this - it was that it was impossible to get information from them on what was happening during the backorder period so I could make an informed decision. And, when it finally became apparent that the scope would ship soon, my attempt to change shipping from ground to 2nd day air due to closeness to Christmas fell on deaf ears. I'm sure their effectiveness was hurt by the holiday onslaught - they could do better with their automated e-mail responses.
