Actually that would be quite cool!!!! I don't know about the other countries' availability though. You could add some really exciting footballing nations like Nigeria to that list too :-D
Don't think it'll happen though!!

You know, there should just be an "English" Championship with some of the English-speaking countries: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States. Oh, and you could add Trinidad and Tobago. How about that?
I still like Gerrard. I actually think his England performances have been good.

Scott Carson is a good keeper and will do well if he signs permanently for Villa, but you have to keep in mind that he is effectively Liverpool's Fourth choice keeper!!! I don't really know who could replace him at the moment...
The fans want Benitez to stay, that's for sure, but the club's American owners and he seem to have had some... disagreements! We shall see.
I don't know about Gerrard - he's Liverpool's talisman but never seems to play well for England. Barry seems tohave done very well for himself since breaking into the squad.
Maybe they will do the Home Nations Championship after all, then you'll have something to be interested in before the World Cup!! I suggest we rename the Home Nations Championship to The Championship of Teams Too Woeful To Qualify For Euro 2008. Perhaps we should invite San Marino, Luxemburg, Andora and Litchenstein - then hopefully each home nation would be assured of winning at least one or two matches!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D

Getting rid of Benitez would be short-sighted. He's done much with Liverpool in his time there; and, yes, he hasn't conquered the Premiership yet, but the European Cup win (and another Final appearance) speaks for itself. That Cup is probably worth more than that four-cup season under Houllier.
As far as England is concerned, what has happened to the one-time home of great goalkeepers (including, perhaps, your namesake)? Paul Robinson seemed hopeful, but that Croatia performance (the first game, that is) must be weighing on him. And, now, Carson showed he was out of his depth in the second Croatia game. I'm sorry, but Croatia shouldn't be as good as their record suggested...
That said, there are some bright spots. Barry and Gerrard are a great midfield axis. However, if England go 4-3-3, then it could be Barry, Hargreaves, and Gerrard in midfield, with (insert left winger) and Wright-Phillips on the wings and Rooney in the middle. How about 4-3-1-2, with Rooney in the hole and the aforementioned threesome in midfield (with Owen and Heskey/Ashton up front)?
I'm still crestfallen. Fast-forward to World Cup 2010; Euro 2008 means nothing to me.

Well, I'm more interested in Liverpool finally getting it together in Europe (and keeping Benitez!!) than what England are doing to be honest, but it does seem strange. Now that all the home nations have failed to qualify, they're talking about resurrecting the Home Nations Championship as a one-off event!!
I had actually hoped Scotland would qualify more than England as I thought they actually deserved it. Italy in the last match was a bit tough though!!!

Are you in mourning over England's failure to capitalize on Russia's gift loss to Israel?! How can a team with the players England has lose at home to Croatia (that's rhetorical, by the way)? Why did McLaren start Carson in such a crucial game over Robinson, despite Robinson's dip in form?
I was sincerely saddened and heartbroken. Honestly, I have little, if any, interest in Euro 2008 now. Even Scotland was eliminated. The Home Nations will not be represented?!

Yes, it's easier to bulk up than cut down!!
The main problem I have with titles is that I usually prefer the new one I come up with, and wonder whether to change the two round!

My experience (Reply to this comment)
by carstairs38
I've found that when I write a short version of a review, then expand it for Epinions, I have no trouble making the 1/3 distinction. However, when I start with the Epinions version and try to shrink it down I have a harder time.
Still, I was so used to writing to the 250 to 300 word range for Amazon that I don't have much trouble writing reviews for the two different sites. I agree that it takes more time. But it is managable.
My biggest problem is usually the title. I'll find one I love and can't decide where to use it. Or I can only think of one title I like. Of course, titling has always been my biggest struggle.

Wow... if I wrote 3 completely different versions for everything I reviewed, my output would drop like a stone!!

Dear CaptainD:
I have been sending reviews to EPINIONS for less than a year. For four years before that I was posting reviews to AMAZON and BARNES AND NOBLE. They were not cross-postings. Each review was different in slant and content. Each had different titles.
Typically, I now write three reviews of things I really like. Each is different. Each title is different. I do this because it pleases me to do it. I am grateful to EPINIONS for letting me publish on their site but I have no repeat no interest in wearing any of their hats.
If you look at one book or one product from three different points of view, you learn more things than if you do only one review from one slant. I like doing things this way and shall continue.
Thanks for your extended opinion on a subject of moderate personal interest to

Hey Kevin
I've never received anything for review either, though considering I'm in the UK that's hardly surprising. I think our reviews here and elsewhere might have some influence on whether people buy, though whether they buy from a link on the site they read the review is quite another matter.
I've had some books sent from another site too - though it's one where you request the books from a list and they get sent to you. Posting to me must cost more but they don't seem to mind - even though I'm painfully slow at getting the reviews done sometimes!!
Thanks for the comment,
CaptainD

Hi there Tom!
You're right, you need to be logged in for those URLs to work... didn't realise that, they should be fine now.
You cuys don't say "Straight away"? The language barrier is worse than I thought!! :-D
(And yes, I do realise that you're Canadian not American - or at least you live in Canada not America. And I realise that technically speaking, you should never start a sentence with "And". :-D)

and cross posting is how I developed a following on the net. It was not anything I did on Epinions. I seriously wonder how many folks actually buy based on what they read here or even read her besides those of us who post and the vendors.
I never once have been sent anything based on Epinions and yet, last week, recieved forty books from various publishing houses because of my work on MFOB and elsewhere.

Uhmmm . . .your naked URLs for the dooyoo examples do not work. Does the 'members' part of the URL indicate you have them as your 'signed in' URLs..??
One way you could help make them different would be to not say 'straight away' in your Eps reviews. That would seem to be a British phrasing, no..?? Just something that jumped out at me . . ..
Anyway . . .interesting tool and thoughts.
