Aside from the fact that what I got didn't even remotely help me in my moving process, and because of this I had to make two trips in two seperate cars - a process that wouldn't have been too bad if I wasn't moving from upstate NY to downstate NC (an 800 mile trip, each way) - delivery speed was wonderful! And if customer service didn't seem to be specifically designed to take over a month so that you'd be subject to a 20% restocking fee when the product they offered didn't work, I'd be satisfied with that as well. But alas, that's just not in the cards. I was ENTIRELY unsatisfied with my purchase. I will not ever...FOR ANY REASON, buy from etrailer.com again. And I'll be sure to warn anyone who might ask of my experience.
If you need more information, read on. If not, you can stop right here.
I went through the lengthy process of selecting the make, model and features of my vehicle for a reason. Because it was supposed to give me a "custom fit" trailer hitch for my car. It said that installation would require nothing more than a 1/2" drill and some ratchets. However, I couldn't figure out how the thing could possibly fit. I brought it to my father's to get an extra pair of hands, and we couldn't figure it out. We brought it to the mechanic where I was SUPPOSED to be picking up my Uhaul so that I could move down to North Carolina, and he confirmed for us that there was no way that the hitch was fitting on my car without "some spacers" and without taking a hammer/grinder to the spare wheel well.
I immediately called somebody at etrailer.com and she said to take pictures of the hitch and how it didn't fit, send them to cs@etrailer.com and wait for them to tell me whether or not I would be reimbursed. I took the pictures. I sent the pictures to them. I waited. I waited. I waited some more. Finally I got fed up and called them again. They said they never received them. So I sent them again and the next day got a return e-mail giving me instructions on how to send it back.
This e-mail also notified me that:
A: orders over 30 days old would be subject to a 20% restocking fee. and B: I would be responsible for "applicable shipping charges if product is non-defective or failure is a result of misuse or abuse."
It's THEIR fault the order is older than 30 days old, as they never returned my e-mail, and the product wasn't "defective" it just "wasn't designed to fit my car"
I'm sure some people have gotten what they wanted without any problem, but my personal experience is that this company is absolute rubbish.
