Hiya Nick,
Precisely, bro. :o)
A lot of the selections come from opera that are hardly ever staged anymore (I'd dearly love for San Diego Opera to stage Rossini's Maometto II or its French version or Ermione). Mozart wrote so many great ensembles, too. Hopefully the samples will be enticing enough to get folks to explore more (smorg pleas guilty to being rather devious about that!). ;o)
Might write up a similar list of choruses one of these days.. though I'm rather burned out writing so many more reviews in the last month than usual.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Hope the week is going well your way!
Cheers,
Smorgy :o)

...but I note nothing from Don Giovanni by Mozart, nor Bellini's Norma or Verdi's Aida among the choices, usually in most people's "top" operas.
Probably a function of your fave actual ensembles rather than judgments on those operas, right?
cheers, nick

Hiya Schlamozzel,
Ack, you're too kind, bro!
I'm delighted that you enjoyed the piece. :o) Dunno about the style being perfect, but I have been working hard on the repugnant part, so I'm very glad that it's paying off. Thanks a bunch! ;oD
And thanks very much for the honor of being on your WoT, too. I hope you won't ever regret it and that you found a few more good tunes from this review to hum to while writing up more of your engaging reviews, too!
Cheers,
Smorg :o)

This can not be happening! WHERE have you been hiding that I have not found you before now?
I just read this "Epinion" and your user profile. Ultra ethical AND such "repugnantly-PERFECT" review writing technique and style! You ARE an angelic gift to this place!
I'm HOOKED!
Cheers,
Schlamozzel
PS: Oh you KNOW you are SO in my WOT RIGHT NOW!

Hiya George,
Thanks a bunch, bro! :o) Hope you found some ensembles you like there. It never ceases to amaze me how good those bel canto composers (Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti) are at blending voices together. And that Mozart... he was a god!
Hope March has started well your way. Thanks again for stopping by!
Cheerio,
Smorgy :o)
