Hi (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for the article. :-)
I have been suffering severe heartburn for the past few months, and was eating Tums like they were going out of style. I was reading a book the other day that suggested a spoonful of apple cider vinegar so I decided to try it. Wow it burned going down.... but I didn't get heartburn again for over a week. Nothing worse than heartburn!!! I am glad you are feeling better.
Take care and happy writing,
Becky

for sharing your experience. Usually people see their family practice doctor, internist, or see a gastroenterologist for symptoms like that.
I thought I had acid reflux for 2 years so followed all the suggestions for avoiding fatty foods, spicy foods, not sleeping after eating, etc. etc.
It turned out in my case that it was the glucosamine/chondroitin tablets that I took for neck/back, and knee pain. Now I have no acid reflux!
For those who do have acid reflux, it is very important to have regular checkups and diagnostic exams so it doesn't lead to something more serious.

Previcid and its Over The Counter Relatives (Reply to this comment)
by calwaone
Prevacid IS a prescreption, while it has many over the counter generic type drugs that can be bought. I am sorry that I did not make this clear.

Prevacid cannot be bought over the counter in the United States. Prilosec can. Perhaps you are thinking of this?
I'm glad you are getting the relief you need.
