I have never had a problem with Travelocity until now. I guess that is the problem...I never had to contact customer service. Now I know that if you have a problem and need service, you will not find it at Travelocity.
I reserved 3 hotel rooms in midtown NYC through travelocity. After paying in full in advance and receiving confirmations for each room, one week later they notified me the hotel was overbooked and offered to transfer me to a 'sister' hotel downtown. I accepted the transfer since most hotels were booked by this time.
2 days and 4 calls later, Travelocity still could not give me a confirmation for the hotel change. So, I called again and requested the refund. I was told that I would forfeit the entire amount unless they could get through to the hotel. Another day later, they were still "unable" to get in touch with the hotel. No hotel room confirmation and no refund option left me feeling helpless without any resolution from customer service.
I finally called the hotel directly and within 30 seconds was speaking with someone. They reviewed the transfer and gave me a confirmation number for each room (all within 3 minutes).
Travelocity has still not provided me with a confirmation and I have finished my travel. Their website still shows that I stayed in the overbooked location.
Terrible customer service.
