| ballada's Full Review: Genius Easy Pen |
I had been using this device with a vector graphic program for almost a year. Mainly for doing cartoons and animation.
At this price, I guess a user could not expect too much. Yet I find it very helpful compared to mouse, of course once you are familiar with it.
There is a learning curve in using this device. You have to be patient, at least for the first few hours. When you first using this device, the drawing pad has some static effect which tend to drag the tip of the pen against the direction of your stroke. Don't panic!. After a few hours this effect will diminish and the pen will work fine anytime you use it.
To get the best result you must use this pen together with the drawing tools of the drawing application software.
Though the freehand capability is limited (not pressure sensitive), for a certain extend it is a better alternative to a mouse. If everything is fine both devices will work along fine, just make sure when you are using the mouse , move the pen away from the pad first.
Still, this device is not for professional...period.
And at this price....I have no complaint !
I had just recommended and helped to purchase for a friend.
Another 10 units for my client's staff, as a training tools before they opted for more expensive and better devices.
In short, if you have patient...buy and use this device...the result will then can be quite satisfactory.
On the other hand, Hey!...if you have the budget...why not graduate to a better device....I will!
