The Bottom Line I made it to the big 3-0!
So, yep, yesterday 3/5/2008, I made it to 30 years old, all without losing any hair, getting any grays, wrinkles, resentment from past relationships, and I can still fit into the same jeans at 30 that I could 10 years ago. When I went out to eat last night and someone knew it was my birthday they were shocked when I said '30'. The waitress said, "30??? You easily look 20". I like that :)
My girl I've been dating for just over a month is a godsend, better than any girl I've date. She's cute, sweet, honest, nice, and not using me to buy her stuff or playing games with me. She was so nice she bought me a some cologne for my birthday and and took me out for a nice Italian dinner where we got to sit in the Mezzanene.
So what do I feel differently about 30 than, say, when I was 20? Well, I'm much more confident in myself at this age, I'm not shy like I was then, don't take things so seriously, can laugh a lot more, not so sensitive to jerks or mean people, and well...I've learned not to get so frustrated and mad when things don't go my way.
I don't also see this thing about having to 'grow up' when you're 30. What exactly does that mean? In my case, I never used drugs or partied wildly or slept around or got in trouble or anything like that at all in my life. I don't miss being a younger man with all the testosterone rages and insecurity.
that's pretty much it. I'm glad I woke up on my 30th birthday not needing a cane or anything :)
