I shop this site regularly, as I'm a loyal user of quite a few Estee Lauder products (Double Wear foundation, Double Wear concealer, Pure Color lipstick, etc.) and have never had a customer service issue with them.
The website is easy to navigate and pleasant to look at; I've had a few issues with the color display not being true to the actual product (mostly with the lipsticks, not eyeliners or foundations), but the exchange process was pretty easy with their prepaid return label.
Shipping has always been prompt, and I like that their invoices include even the free samples/bonuses so that you can confirm everything is selected correctly.
They post customer reviews on the site, and these don't seem to be filtered by them at all. Granted, EL doesn't make a lot of really bad products, but when something is average, and has some drawbacks, you'll see it in the reviews, which makes me more confident about what I'm buying from them.
When they have a free shipping or bonus offer, which is at least once every couple of weeks, there are some really great deals. I've gotten 8-color eyeshadow kits, full-size lipsticks, mascaras, skincare products and fragrance samples regularly with purchase. Often you only have to spend $35 or more to get these bonuses. Also, many of the skincare samples are labeled as 10-day ones, but I find they last a month or more.
The only reason I can think of to buy EL products at a store rather than their site would be if you aren't sure about the shade you're buying and don't want to deal with exchanging it if it isn't right.
