Pros: Great sound quality, easy to use jog dial, bright readable screen.
Cons: Clumsy USB interface
The Bottom Line: I recommend the NEX II to anyone, it's a great MP3 player and easily beats any of comparable players out there.

Great player!
The unit itself is very light, and is sturdily built. The buttons are placed along the side though, which makes it hard to pick the unit up without accidentally hitting a button. The buttons on my unit were a Stop button and a Fn (function) button that allowed you to see the onscreen menu. On the other side was a volume button (up/down) with the jog dial just above it. If you need to swap out cards or preserve battery power, you can shut it down by holding the stop button for 2 seconds, but I would have preferred an on/off switch. The unit shuts off automatically after about 1 min of inactivity.
It doesn't use any of the copy protection schemes that simply make your life harder. That's a major plus for me, I hate the idea that other people control what I can put on MY player.
Sound quality is great, and the volume on this thing is incredible. The volume goes up to 25, yet most songs got too loud at anything past 10.
The included earphones were too small for my head, and the rigid plastic wasn't the most comfortable, but sound quality was great. I would recommend getting your own good quality headphones.
No hassles getting MP3s on the player using a CF card reader, but the included USB interface is a little tricky. My USB cable got caught in the unit and I had to pull it out, which broke the connector. I have a CF reader though so it wasn't much of a problem.
The jog dial used to select tracks and play/pause worked great, and prevented you from having to look around for little buttons. They could have made the dial a bit bigger though. My fingers sometimes slipped when trying to go up and down through tracks.
The included "nexKins" are cute, but are really just thin plastic colors that allows you to change the yellow in the picture. Not much use, I just use the blue one.
I must say that this unit is perfect for me, it uses the CF cards that I already have, and its is small and very sturdy. No major complaints at all.
