However, I don't look at the Olympics in the historical context, nor do I view them as a political machine (even if they are). I look at the games from the perspective of the men and women who train hard to compete. Maybe some of them cheat, but I don't know that it is rampant. I would hope not. As an avid sports fan, I hate to take China to task at the expense of the athletes. IMHO.
