My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. Never, never give up!
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell. ~Lance Armstrong

Thinking of you (Reply to this comment)
by AliventiAsylum
My mother was 80 when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. They took everything, including the lymph nodes. Radiation treatments for 8 weeks, back and forth to the treatment center every day - a 1 1/2 hour trip each direction.
I could read between the lines what the surgeon was telling me. See, she had seen the lump for probably close to a year before she finally did anything. You know what they say about early detection? Well, this was the spring of 2006, and I was sure my Mom wouldn't be around in the spring of 2007.
And two years later, she is still cancer free.
I firmly believe 90% of it is attitude. Make up your mind that it's not going to beat you and keep that positive outlook as best you can.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

My friend had her breast removed last Tuesday because of cancer. My other good friend had the same surgery about a year ago. I am telling you this because they are still here and they are survivors. You will be too.
You are in my prayers.
Susie.

You will get through this. You're a strong person, I know, because I've been reading about you for a long time now. Do what you need to do to get through each day, and know that you can survive this. I'll be thinking of you a lot. From one cancer survivor to another, much love. -- Telynor

One foot in front of the other (Reply to this comment)

Beverley, I'm so sorry to read this - you've been such a long-term and stalwart member here. You know you're held in everyone's good thoughts and wishes, and you know that you can only take it one day - one hour - at a time. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, again and again and again, and you'll come through it. And you may even wind up with curly hair after it's all over!
All the best to you and your family -
Margaret

I'm so sorry for what you're enduring and what is yet to be endured. I do know how and feel and how it's affecting not only you but your family.
My older sister was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of years and had to do the whole bit...chemo, breast removal, and radiation. She, too, was SICK....so very sick. She seemed to be forever on a roller coaster that seemed to go on forever.
The day she lost her hair was very traumatic.
She's doing fine now. I asked her one day how she did it and she said it was just a matter of taking it hour by hour and never thinking about "what if."
You're in my prayers too!

My mother has had lymphoma for over 15 years, she had several lymph nodes removed and has been in remission ever since. She didn't do the chemo, just changed her eating habits, attitude and life-style a bit.
Good luck to you, and think positive!!
