Be careful using gift cards!

I called J&R for a small purchase, using a gift card with remaining balance on a credit card. I specifically gave instructions that it was a gift card that HAD to be used within 48 hours. I was told, no problem. But they batch process CC/Gift cards once a day. First they mistakenly tried to process the gift card as a CC for the full balance. When that didn't work, they waited another day to contact me which allowed the gift card to expire. That cost me $10 and 18 days to receive a reinstated gift card. I got the new gift card and provided info to J&R and was told to look for an order confirmation email. I received no email so after a week I called J&R. Turns out the item was now out of stock. BUT they had gone ahead and processed the gift card again so now they had my money but not the product. Then when the product came in, they could not process the gift card because the time between their reserving the balance and actually drawing the funds had expired, causing another 7-10 days for the gift card to re-allocate the funds. It has been over a month and they still can't get the order correct or refund my money. I just want this order completed so I can never deal with J&R again.
