If I had only known-Reba McIntyre

The Bottom Line try to remember the good things-pray and if you can work
What am I going to do without You My wife died on August 1, 2008. She was my wife, lover, helpmate, best friend for 30 days short of 41 years. I met her on July 14 ,1967 and married her August 31st same year. Even then she was so tiny-4'9 usually about 95 lbs. Here I was 5'11" 175 lbs. The most she ever weighed is 120 lbs and that was full term with my youngest son, Jeffery. When she died she was 4'9" 83 lbs.(brittle bone) One thing that helps bring back the memories of her is Reba McIntyre's "If I had only known". I was with June when she died, we were getting ready for a Hospice machine and talking when all of a sudden she was talking and I could not understand her-I went and immediately caled 911 , but time they got there she was gone. My favorite memory is for our honeymoon we went to where her parents were and this is the first time I met my inlaws. We slept in a cold back room. Sometime that nite she got up and when she returned, she put her feet right in the middle of my back. Now the top of this bed was a good 3 feet to floor. And of course I landed on that floor. Plus in the winter she would get right up to my back-I'd try to get away from her but stopped right at the edge of the bed. Of course if i tried to roll -you can guess where I'd end up. one time I asked her why she did that-she told me "Because your always so warm".
I try to remember all the things she did-both for me and the family and also some of the crazy things. Like one time the dog chewed one of her favorite lamp's cord in half. She could not wait till I got home from work so she decided to fix it herself. She took all 4 wires and trwisted them together and plugged in. Yep the lights went out so I had to come home early and get the lights back on. She never tried that again.I have to stop right now but as the days go by , I will add more to this.
Another of my favorite memories is one time for a week I'd come home from work and both the kitchen and the front room would be rearranged. Now one of the things she would move was a big ol' refrigerator and I hated moving that thing. How this small , little woman could move it -I'll never know.
I can remember a short time after June died. The grief was hitting me so hard I was crying uncontrolably. My youngest granddaughter (age 9)came in and gave me a big hug and said "Don't cry Grandpa-she's right here with you". Since that time I still cry but not so hard because I feel her with me. more later.
One of my favorite saying's was " When somebody got mad-somebody was running-only time she ran was when she was chasing me."
