After reading news of your own passing Michael Hereid, I was saddened by the loss of such a talented mind. Yet after reading this touching tribute, I feel much better knowing that you and your wife are in a better place.
I can almost hear the singing now.

She sounds like such a beautiful soul, and I'll bet she's still keeping you on your toes, and filling your heart with joy...it sounds like she gave you a lot of fun and spunk over the years!

PS: noticed on your bio you are an amateur radio operator. My call sign is KC7WPS and my Dad is AC7CJ. He's on the air all the time. I'm on once in a while. He's been an Extra Class holder for years (and years...)I hold a General Class (recently upgraded from a Tech Class which I had for around 9 years until I upgraded) Anyway, take care of yourself and see you around the site and maybe on-air someday.

Just came across your essay. Like everyone else, it's sad to read it and I'm sorry to read it.
Time definitely helps. But it can take lots of time. Hope you can talk to other people, especially those who have gone through a similar loss. There are some really good books and websites for dealing with grief, too. This is the time to reach out and ask others for help and for patience.
Be kind to yourself, too.
Write another essay here, if it would help.

I recently got a card from a friend of my mothers that said, she is not gone she is just away. I can say after some time, it does get easier. Sorry for your loss. Stella

Susie I know. In 1991 We lost a son in a car accident.Memories are always with us.
after 41yrs I have so many of her and I know when I'm at my lowest-she is there with me.

My son has been gone since 1996 and I still chuckle at things I remember, both good and bad.
I know nothing I can say will lessen your pain and hurt and confusion, just glory in the time you were blessed together.

Memories can make you happier... more specifically when you focus on all of the good memories.
When you live the majority of your life with the same person, and they are your lover, best friend and companion, you can't help but to have a lifetime of good memories to fill your life.. and continue to take them with you.
