One man's/woman's junk is another man's/woman's gold! Parts are available for your old Pio PL-600 Belt Drive. You just need to know that Ebay's got 'em!

I just got a beat-up Pioneer PL-600 (black) turntable with a non-functional belt and a suspect cart/stylus (arc-like scratches on the TT chassis matching stylus trajectory from its resting place toward the platter). In my quest to rehabilitate it, I came across your article, and voila! All information is still current. I ordered the replacement belt from Steve on eBay ($13 shipped) and the replacement cart from Ed Saunders ($16 shipped). Hopefully, that's the only issues I need to deal with. Thank you for saving me some hours searching!

Your explanations about the PL-600 turntable belt and cartridge are very detailed and helpful. Much appreciated! I loko forward to getting the old thing working again. Planning to digitize the remainder of my vinyl collection (method: record to a really good tape, then transfer the tape as a mo3 file with ULead adapter, then convert MP3 to WAV with Audacity. Works great!). Thanks again!
