Eight-armed toilet animal,
Thanks for commenting! Yeah, I really like digitized music, though I tend to convert my CDs to WMAs, which is a format similar to MP3. I also use a Creative Zen Nano player, which is cheap and use regular rechargeable AAA batteries.
Oh, and don't get me wrong: I'm not non-technological... I'm anti-technological. :) At least, I'm anti-technological about certain things. With music, though, I do like some of the current technology.
Thanks again!

Keds,
Thanks for the scientific reference! I guess I'll have to check these out, and see which one works the best. By the way, I should recommend to you mp3's, because to be honest I finally had to convert to those. Those CD's became burdensome for storage..my wife was threatning that I'd be on the couch with the dog in the living room if I didn't do something about them. (Even though there is a tv in there, and the dog is cool)
I went with the IPOD, its truly user friendly for non-technological cavemen like us! Thanks for all the info, and I might just have to make a stop at the camera store today.

Toilet Cephalopod,
Thank you for your comment. A year ago, I knew even less than you did; at least, you have experience with 35mm cameras. But, in the last several months, I have read so much about lenses and cameras and tried out many Nikon and Canon DSLRs that I pooled a ton of trivia in my head about cameras.
In my opinion, between Canon and Nikon, I like Nikon because their cameras feel better in my hand and the buttons are more intuitive. If you like the feel of a Canon, though, then go for it because Canon DSLRs tend to be lighter, cheaper, and still produce great images with lenses that compare to Nikon, except Canon has yet to produce the wonderful 18-200mm f/3.5-4.5 Vibration Reduction lens that Nikon offers.
Anyway, it seems like Canon enthusiasts outnumber Nikon fans; and both sides vehemently defend their brands. But, I think that either of the two is fine, and I'd even consider Sony, which inherited the Konica-Minolta inventory of lenses and now produces great Zeiss lenses for its Alpha-series of DSLRs. For me, though, my wife has been shooting Nikon for a while, and by going Nikon I get to use her lenses. :)

Keds,
Thanks so much for explaining newer cameras in English for me. I've had a hard time figuring out this new technology, compared to my old standby 35mms. Guess its time to at least wake up, and get a new toy.
