I liked the work I read from Isinga, and have posted Scarlet Street for this tribute write-off as well as your Fritz Lang W.O. My review is here:

... I've also reviewed Young Frankenstein - http://www.epinions.com/review/mvie_mu-1024348/content_44792712768

BTW in case I hadn't congratulated you at the time, congratulations on reaching (and passing!) 2,000 reviews - that's an amazing achievement that very few on Epinions have managed so far!

Cheers,

you betcha!...I'll have more when you get back and will try to get one in before you leave but can't be sure yet since I've not been watching much lately except political stuff....

If I don't get back here before you leave, have a great trip and a safe one.

Well, I've ordered a bunch of Paul Newman movies and am not sure how many if any are black and white. Hmm. I'll try to enter your write-off. So sorry to hear about isinga.

I'm not sure if this really counts, but the 1964 DVD of Fortner's Bluthochzeit from Stuttgart is in B&W. ;o) www.epinions.com/review/mvie_mu-1151102/content_442784583300

2000 - an impressive accomplishment indeed. I think I can break out of my post-1980 comfort zone for a good black and white. Off to Netflix to browse!

I doubt I'll make it even to 1000 if I stay here 8 years, bro. Congrats on hitting the magic 2G! :o)

And thanks a bunch for filling up my 'to read next' list in short order, too. I'm not familiar with many of the authors you mentioned. The library will be seeing a lot of me now!

Congratulations on 2000!

Just wanted to add my congratulations to your achievement. Like you, I'm never too sure to be proud of my "body of work" at epinions, or curse that I could have spent the time doing something more productive.

However, an addiction is and addiction and feed it we must!

2,000. You put me to shame. (Reply to this comment)
by gillandtony

I loved the comment;

less than one a day seems rather slothful to me.

That makes me the "Slow Loris" of Epinions. My excuse is that I aim to concentrate on quality rather than quantity.

I always admire the fact that you produce both.

Congratulations on your 2000th.

Gill.

No doubt because he had a four-month head start, Freak369 has posted more than twice as many epinions as I have (a lot though 2000 seems to me). Ain't no way I'm gonna catch up, George to the contrary notwithstanding. (And, George, I hope an Isinga memorial will lure you back to writing about an old movie, though I know you are wallowing in the presumably more highly rewarded world of non-media epinions!)

Thanks to all well-wishers (and an exhortation to join the b&w writeoff).

Yes, I loved Blood Tie, which I only discovered a few months ago. I don't know whether I'll delve into her historical fiction though.

And write one for Chad's memorial!

I saw the better Hurt in a short last night. Your ham was good in the small dose of "A History of Violence," but I'll never forgive him for what he did to "Kiss of the Spider Woman."

I hope you'll find a good black and white movie to review. The color ones you've been reviewing often don't much please you, so...

Re: TCM (Reply to this comment)
by Stephen_Murray
There's never a shortage of b&w movies on TCM. Whether they are in the database is another matter!

But I have confidence in your resourcefulness! And Sue adds movies about a hundred times as fast as the three book CLs combined.
