This highly touted washer was purchased at a high-end dealer about a year ago. For the first six months it was great. It worked fine, did a nice job... wife liked it. After that time we started to sporadically get out of balance shut-downs. They increased to the point of not being able to do laundry. Several Service Reps from our dealer came and each tried their best to solve the issue. At one point, Fisher-Paykel blamed us for our inability to load a washer correctly. Now that's corporate arrogance at its best! Today Jan 9, 2002 was service call #6. Contrary to the set-up guide issued to the service and install techs, they told him to angle the washer forward slightly
to decrease the nuisance shut downs. The tech and I both found it odd that a Fisher-Paykel technician would have a name for this problem (as though it’s not new)?
Fisher-Paykel has now been informed again, and an area representative is supposed to contact us. The saga continues. At this point I would NEVER recommend a Fisher-Paykel product to anyone, and by the way the Dryer is made by GE. If a company wants to bring their foreign made products into this country I believe that you should have some respect for your customers first.

As a company Fisher-Paykel responded after I e-mailed a link to this review to their customer service address.
A bit of phone tag went on, but the final outcome is as follows:
Our dealer, Albano Appliance in Pound Ridge, NY has furnished all of our HIGH-END Kitchen appliances. They are to be commended, and given the Dealer of the year AWARD for always doing the right thing. They arranged for a full credit to be issued by Fisher-Paykel (which is commendable on their part) and we have chosen to replace the Fisher-Paykel with the Miele Novotronic W1926a. Albano picked-up and delivered in the same day, both machines. Their sales people are wonderful to deal with, and the install people
do it right... the first time.
This story has a happy ending. Let's hope the Miele lives up to the ratings that everyone on EPINIONS say, and the dealers. I have great confidence!!
