Join the 6th Annual Resurrecting the Oldies Book Write Off
Oct 09 '08 (Updated Nov 24 '08)
The Bottom Line Write off about books written before 2005, and genre, from Oct. 6 to Dec. 31.
Hard to believe it has been 6 years since I started this write off. But it is that time of year again. This is a very simple write off which purpose is to draw attention to books that are still wonderful but have perhaps fallen from the spotlight as new best sellers fill the bookshelves.
This is an opportunatiy to embrace a book or books that may have been forgotten about, and to possibly even save some money buying then at second hand book stores, or on used book store sites on line. It can also be a wonderful excuse to go back and start a series that started many years ago that is still going strong today. Or perhpas cook something from an old cookbook, or read a charming children's book, that would otherwise collect dust on the shelves of the library or home book shelf.
The write off is simple and the books don't even have to be that old. The books should have been written before 2005.
The only rule is that that the book be written before 2005. It can be any genre. The write off should be mentioned somewhere in the review and a link provided to either my member page or this introduction submission here. All reviews will be placed on both my profile page, and on this review. The reviews will stay on my member page until I run out of room and have to delete a year. If you would like to read the older reviews all of them are still there from the very first of this write off.
The begining date of the write off has officially begun as of October 6th and will go on unitl December 31st, but if you are a few days late that is OK.
Simply email your entries to me (the address is on my member page) when they are finished. Also if you could just leave me a comment here or drop me an email to let me know you are interested in participating that would be wonderful.
Thank you everyone, and I do hope you will all join us this year.
