Having finally followed your public's demand (?) (Reply to this comment)

with P.S., I'm casting my lot with Alex for "Threpenny Opera." Not what I would have chosen for you, but the suggestion that intrigues me.

Having endured "Sex and the City" is enough without being asked to write about it, especially if, like me, you couldn't tell a Louis Vuiton from a sow's ear.

You know, I never realised you were a fellow Brit before!

I hope you're not being serious.

Jan, the review is on the way, I promise. I've been suffering from SEVERE Man Flu since just after Christmas. And then I've been working 11 hour days because my employers are utter arseholes.

But it is on its way, just fine tuning it as we speak. May not get it finished until tomorrow, I'm suffering from severe ring rust.

... just saw this... thought it couldn't possibly be true... but it is! THE HORROR...

Erm...yes. Anyway, welcome back Crispy one. You know, I never realised you were a fellow Brit before!

TOGETHER WE SHALL DOMINATE THE PITIFUL AMERICANOS!

Or something.

Maybe I should have just left it at "welcome back"...

PS - I'm pretty sure you were the first person to ever comment on one of my movie reviews. Funny the little details you remember!

:) So, it is the New Year...

Heh:) I'd love to suggest a couple films but I kinda would feel the need to back myself up by writing some myself and am not sure I'm exactly up for that right now.

Review RED (2008) (Reply to this comment)
by night_writer
It is one of the best films of the year and it is criminally unheard of. Brian Cox is in it and it isn't a chick flick. It may cause you to well up and smear your mascara though. It happened to me so it could happen to you as well. Joking...err..of course I am.

Give me a minimum of a one week's notice though, yeah? In fact, with Christmas coming up don't expect the first review to be until the New Year. Probably.

Heh:p~

So my 'you have fifteen minutes' request doesn't quite work eh? :D

I've thought about doing the same thing personally actually. Maybe one of these days.

Now I can't wait for the review!

The last time I heard the term "slapper" was when I hooked up with a very handsome British guy ages ago and he had to explain to this Yank what he meant when he called Fergie a Ginger Slapper. Don't know how that came up in conversation, but the reference made me laugh and I've always loved that term ever since. It's right up there with "canker blossom".

In this order:

P.S. I Love You
Legend
*a film that won't make me want to end myself*
27 Dresses
Bound
*some form of list*

and then after that, it's a free-for-all.

Gah, what's with all of the chick flick recommendations? It's as though you all want me to do nothing but rip the arsehole out of shitty films, whilst torturing me at the same time.

Bloody good thing I enjoy doing just that.

So many snarky reviews, so little time...

How the hell did I miss this?!? Welcome back, you blue-eyed ditch dweller. I would love to choose a movie for you to review. Looooove to.

I choose:

Made of Honor

And because you are my favorite Eps eye candy, I will give you a second choice should you be too scared to sit through the first:

27 Dresses

I saw it, you should have to see it too.

*smooch*

(By the way, I got quoted on the DVD back cover of 1983's "Xtro"!)

You should be simultaneously proud and ashamed.

I'm surprised people aren't being a lot harsher with this. No matter, my mind is made up. "P.S. I Love You" it is.

P.S. I Love You

Oh snap, it's on. I had a bet with Mrs Crispy, where even she said that if I managed to watch more than half an hour of this without begging her to turn it off, she'd come to the cinema to watch The Dark Knight with me. If I couldn't, I had to take her to see Sex And The City.

Result? Two and a half hours of watching three ugly slappers following around some woman with a face like a foot.

Welcome Back Crisps! To inaugurate you back into the Eps fold, I thought I'd subject you to some torture and dare you to review...

P.S. I Love You

I need to laugh my ass my off, and I know your review will provide it. And if you happen to like this movie, then I know you'll have gone soft.

Good to see you around these parts again.

Seriously? Sheesh. At our Christmas party my senior year in high school I gave my Drama teacher the soundtrack to that film as a gag gift! And, damn! I checked and it's available on DVD; thought if you gave it a favorable review, maybe they'd quote you on the DVD cover.

You are someone I missed so much through the years. You and Jack make being here reading refreshing. I've gone back and read some of your old stuff through the years and now I can look forward to new reviews.

Now if we could just get rid of the damn fleas around here...

I'm not ashamed to admit, I have seen "The Garbage Pail Kids Movie" more time than I wish to remember, yet the only scene I can remember is where one of them pisses themselves.

It may have to be viewed again.

Hey, nice to have you back! Your life must be totally boring to resort to this crazy site again or you enjoy abuse heh. Speaking of legends, I dare you to watch and review Tom Cruise in Legend. It'll be a hilarious review. Otherwise stretch yourself. The Atheist's Bible maybe?

I most certainly shall be looking at the idea of reviewing something other than a movie... but not for my first review in approaching three years. But a welcome suggestion that I will take on board.

We all know I'm probably going to just get drunk and single out the last film I watched that really annoyed me (Dance of the Dead, as things stand) but I'll at least try not to.

For the time being I'm just going to catch up on reviews I've missed in my absence.

Can't we ever get rid of you?

You've been gone so long I thought we'd actually lost you this time.

Still, I suppose you'll be glad to hear I believe even Jack made a return to the site during your abscence, so jokes about ditches and sex are bound to once again frolic in the comment sections.

As for the challenge you want us to throw you... nah, not going to go there. Everyone knows a Crispy review is at it's best when it's completely honest. That said, your suggestion of a five-star review of Star Wars intrigues me slightly, merely to see if you can pull it off with any kind of sincerity. A one-star thrashing would probably be a hell of a lot more entertaining though.

However, if you'd like some kind of challenge, here it is: extend your boundaries a bit. There's more to Epinions than movies. How about some music or book reviews? Or choose another category you think could be up your alley.

Think on it.

properly welcomed back, but not by me yet, so...

WELCOME BACK!!!

You have been missed!

And I'd recommend "Bound" for several reasons. It might satisfy some of your more carnal notions, it might go incredibly well with that vodka high, and I'm not sure a guy has reviewed it yet, but I could be wrong.

There, the gauntlet has been thrown down.

Good to have you back, you crispy little critter! :)

Have you gotten our Film Dictionary published yet?

I suggest G.W. Papst's adaptation of THE THREE PENNY OPERA. It rather goes with our times, right now, and Criterion has an excellent DVD, recently on sale.

...

By the way...

My nomination for your re-inaugural film to be reviewed..??

Pretty In Pink

The Eps subcategories of 1980s, Young Love, and Drama say it all...

And who did not have a thing for Molly back in the day..?? And if you personally did not ... maybe we can spark a new one...

...tom...

P.S. . . .and if you are just teasing us again . . .well, lets just say (and I am sure I speak for many) you better not be.
