I understand donc's point, but I'm generally so irritated by companies that renege on their promises and that gouge customers that I just can't justify rating this review lower than Helpful. Certainly it's helpful to me to know which companies decieve and cheat their customers!

Manufacturers do engineer "siping" into their tires (I've been told it's part of the tire's ability to deal with rain and standing water), but I doubt if I'd be comfortable letting anyone "mess" with the treads of a tire I would rely on.
It might be a good idea to kind of "clean up" this review. Some readers will be prone to discount it based on the inferred words. Hope you understand what I'm talking about here. You also could add a bit of balance to it. A review can still get across your "non-recommendation" without coming off as a rant. It can also be more effective that way (so that it looks like you have given them the benefit of the doubt - which I believe you did).
