He ain't mine and I don't think much of the two I've seen of his. When reading the reviews you would think that Christ came again according to the sycophants. Void you disappoint me!

Re: GI Joe the movie, on the anticipated list? (Reply to this comment)

Well with the success of Transformers, a live-action film has been in the works for years and I'm sure there's people excited for nostalgic reasons.
Yet, the reason I put it on the filthy 15 because it's directed by Stephen Sommers. A guy I think isn't very competent as a director and is often more about CGI-driven stuff rather than shooting things live. I don't think it's going to work at all.

Well, when you think of great living directors. Malick certainly fits that bill given his reputation with his films. He's probably one of the last of those greats even though he doesn't make many films. At the Filmspotting forum, he's very beloved by many for his visual style, storytelling, and poetic quality. We definitely anticipate whatever film he does. It's like an event and after seeing The New World back in 2006 in its theatrical-cut version.
I felt like I saw something that audiences would never see in theaters and his films are meant to be seen on the big screen. He definitely brought me a lot more excitement into what he does as an auteur. The fact he's coming out with a new film definitely excites me.

I found your list a good read, but how does GI Joe the movie qualify? :)

I realize that Terrence Malick may well be YOUR most favorite and beloved director, but really? Is he everyones? He wasn't even on the AMC top 100 Director's list. Surely many may find Walt Disney or Hayou Miyazaki more beloved. Perhaps some prefer Hitchcock, DeMille, Coppola, Kurosawa or Paul W.S. Anderson? Okay, okay, I was kidding about the last one.
Nevertheless, your well written article gives me some good info on things to look forward to. I just couldn't resist a little ribbing!
