| fuzzy-logic's Full Review: IBM P 260 (21 in.) CRT Conventional Monitor |
I needed to upgrade from my 17inch, so i went on ebay and found the IBM P260 for just under $500. At the time it was the top of the line by IBM, and its performance is nothing less than incredible
Features: FLAT screen, extremely bright, stylish, dual inputs(DVI and VGA) a front bezel switch to toggle between the DVI and VGA, and the buttons on the front bezel allow you to adjust the screen to absolute perfection.
Picture Quality: superb. i use this monitor to; play games, watch dvds, edit video, surf web, and just about everything else. and when doing any of those tasks this monitor makes them remarkably clear and crisp. and the text is the best i've ever seen on a monitor.
The best dot pitch i've seen on the high tech market lately is .22mm, and that's for a variety of sizes in monitors. the P260 has an incredible .24mm dot pitch, and although not the highest, for a 21" monitor is an exceptional advantage. if you have a 19" TV in the same room as your computer, i would recommend buying a Tv tuner for your computer, and getting the P260. Dvd movies will blow you away on this screen! one other thing great about this monitor is its wide brightness and contrast range. when looking at mostly white screens such as web pages, i turn down the contrast and brightness to make its much easier on the eyes. and when watching DVDs, or playing games, i jack the up the contrast and a bit of brightness to have some serious fun!
If you have a little extra space on your desk, and don't feel like spending a ridiculous amount of money on a similarly sized LCD monitor, get the P260
